Spencer County Schools is actively building bus routes, creating student schedules, and finalizing teacher assignments for the upcoming school year. We need every family's Online Registration completed so we can make sure your student is ready for the first day of school.
Without a completed Online Registration, your student may not receive:

* ๐ A class schedule
* ๐ A teacher assignment
Think of Online Registration as your student's ticket to the new school year! The sooner it's completed, the sooner we can make sure everything is in place for a smooth start.

A vacancy exists on the Spencer County Board of Education, as of June 16, 2026 in the seat District # 2 formerly held by Mr. Timothy Truitt. The unexpired term for this seat is set to end on December 31, 2028. The Board will proceed to appoint an individual to fill this seat for the unexpired term pursuant to KRS 160.190 and Board Policy 01.3. Deadline to submit application is July 8, 2026. Spencer County Schools is thrilled to announce that Ms. Lexas Perry has been selected as the new Principal of the Spencer County Early Learning Center.
Ms. Perry will officially assume her role on July 1, 2026, though she will be working closely with our leadership team over the coming weeks to ensure a seamless transition. A familiar face in our district, Ms. Perry has spent the last nine years as a passionate Special Education Teacher, most recently serving our students as the PASS Plus teacher at Taylorsville Elementary.
Her extensive background in early childhood support and her dedication to student success make her the perfect fit for our youngest learners. Please join us in congratulating Ms. Perry and welcoming her to the Early Learning Center family!

๐น Mr. Steven Rucker has been selected as our new Assistant Superintendent. Mr. Rucker previously served as our Chief of Student Supports and is a veteran school administrator in our district.
๐น Ms. Beth St. Bernard has been named Director of Secondary Education after serving beautifully as the Principal of our Early Learning Center for the past two years.
๐น Ms. Mandy Howie will serve as Director of Elementary Education, bringing her rich experience as our Director of State and Federal Programs, an Instructional Coach, and a long-time district teacher.

Indies Introduce is a list of the top ten debut middle-grade and YA books publishing within a certain period and acts as a launching pad for new talentโthe books are chosen by a committee of independent booksellers and become featured titles for indie stores across the country!

Attention 3rd - 12th Grades needing summer access to your school accounts!! As part of a state-wide initiative, we will begin using Rapid Identity Automation to log into our district accounts. Each user (staff/student) will be required to use Multi-Factor Authentication. Pictograph Authentication provides a secure and user-friendly option to traditional multi-factor authentication methods for students. Along with username and password, students will create a second password by selecting images (pictographs). Each 3rd - 12th grade student will need to remember 3 pictographs to log into their district accounts. Please do not share your password or pictographs! You are responsible for your account at all times!
