The Spencer County FFA chapter of Taylorsville, Kentucky, has been recognized in the 2026 National Chapter Award Program from the National FFA Organization. They were given a 3-star ranking. Truly a mark of their exceptionalism, less than 10% of chapters nationwide are given a ranking from the National FFA Organization.
Spencer County FFA has also been named a national finalist this year for the Premier Chapter Strengthening Agriculture. Only 10 FFA chapters nationwide are selected as national finalists in each of the five award categories within the National Chapter Award. As a national finalist, the Spencer County FFA chapter is among the most exceptional and innovative chapters that the National FFA Organization has to offer. They will compete for the national winner title on Wednesday, Oct. 21 in Indianapolis at the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo.
The program recognizes outstanding FFA chapters from throughout the country that actively implement the mission and strategies of the organization. These chapters improve chapter operations using the National Quality FFA Chapter Standards and a Program of Activities that emphasize growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture. Chapters are rewarded for providing educational experiences for the entire membership.
Chapters that received star ratings during judging this summer will be recognized at the 99th National FFA Convention & Expo, Oct 21-24.
All FFA chapters participating in the National Chapter award program receive honors provided by corporate sponsors Bayer, Cargill Protein, John Deere, New Holland, Rabobank and Syngenta.
The National FFA Organization is a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 1,053,847 student members as part of 9,591 local FFA chapters in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

We want to make you aware of a new online trend that has recently gained attention among students called the โCompliment Text.โ
Students may receive a text message that says:
โSomeone at [School Name] sent you a compliment.โ
The unsolicited message includes a link that directs students to an app called Peek: Secret Compliment. Although the message is presented as a positive or harmless โcompliment,โ the app allows users to identify a school and grade level and then anonymously post, comment, and vote in polls about their peers.
These texts do not come from Spencer County Schools. They are created and sent by individuals outside of our district. The use of a school name in the message does not mean the message is affiliated with or endorsed by the school.
โ ๏ธ Please do not click the link.
When a recipient clicks the link, the app may request access to contact information on the device. This can result in the same type of message being sent to people in the user's contact list, causing the trend to spread rapidly from one phone to another.
Because of the anonymous nature of the platform, interactions can quickly move beyond compliments and potentially become a source of inappropriate comments, rumors, bullying, or other negative interactions.
We encourage parents to:
Talk with your child about unexpected text messages and links they receive.
Remind students not to click on the link in these messages.
Do not provide the app with access to contacts or other personal information.
Check your child's phone for messages or apps related to anonymous compliments or peer voting.
Remind students that anonymous posts can still have real consequences for the people involved.
Encourage your child to report anything inappropriate, threatening, harassing, or concerning to a trusted adult.
If your child receives one of these messages, do not click the link or participate in the app. Simply delete the message.
Our goal in sharing this information is to make families aware of this trend so that we can work together to keep our students safe online and promote responsible digital citizenship.
Thank you for your partnership in supporting our students.
