Mrs. Hollan's class ended their research on dinosaurs last week. Today, they celebrated Dinosaur Day. Each student adopted dinosaurs eggs, read fiction and nonfiction books about dinosaurs, dug for dinosaur fossils, and had a special dinosaur snack. Their class even had a special dinosaur vistor!

Mrs Hutt’s 4th Grade class visited Cafe Read A Latte today. After finishing the Percy Jackson novel study, the class enjoyed “sampling” the rest of the series. Such a fun treat completed with “lattes”.

Our Office of Educational Technology has been made aware of a hazardous trend circulating on social media platforms, particularly TikTok. Students are being encouraged to insert conductive materials—such as pencils, aluminum foil, or paper clips—into USB and other ports on school-issued Chromebooks. The intent is to create sparks and smoke, often leading to fires. This behavior poses significant health and safety risks. Tampering with electronic devices can cause short circuits, potentially igniting fires. Such actions can render Chromebooks inoperable. We urge all parents and guardians to have immediate conversations with their children about the dangers of participating in this or any similar challenges.

1st Grade is doing an ABC Countdown to Summer and today was the letter P for indoor pool party! All classes did fun, summer themed activities like making crafts, snack creations and bubbles.

2nd Grade held their first ever Literacy Lock-In for their classes last week! Students stayed after school for several hours where they were engaged in reading/writing activities that centered around books written by popular children's book author, Cynthia Rylant. They had snacks to go along with each book they studied, did activities and a craft, ate pizza for dinner, and finished the night watching some of Rylant's other books being read aloud to them while cozied up in pajamas and sleeping bags. It was a great celebration of all the learning they have done this year!

Third Grade participated in a Live Webcast from Churchill Downs to learn more about the history and traditions of the Kentucky Derby!🐎

Reminder: The parent meeting for our incoming 6th graders is tomorrow, Thursday, May 1st. Please come through the main entrance (not the bus lot). There will be Kona Ice with a $2 off coupon for incoming 6th graders and a place for pictures! Meet in the gym at 5:30!

Last Friday was our last Tiger Talk! We wrapped up the year with a fun game and reflecting on what we liked and what we would like to see in the future.

5th graders were active collaborators with the Spencer County EMS this week during gym as they teamed up to learn how to perform hands-only CPR to help save lives.
