🐾🎃 What a Week with Our Cubs! 🎃🐾 This week has been packed with fun, learning, and memories we’ll cherish! 💙 From our Red Ribbon Week themed days and visits from our SCHS Bears, who led lessons with our students, to exciting field trips for several grade levels and wrapping up the week with Halloween fun… our Cubs have been busy! 🐻❤️🖤 We wouldn’t trade a minute of it! These are the moments that make being part of the SCES family so special. Whether we’re learning something new, exploring beyond the classroom, celebrating together, or simply making each other smile, we love creating core memories with our Cubs! 🥰✨ We are so grateful for the people, experiences, and opportunities that make our school such a special place to be. Yes, Please! 🐾☀️ Mrs. White’s and Ms. Nicole’s Cubs got a special surprise yesterday—EXTRA RECESS! 🎉🛝 Thanks to River, who won this fun experience at our Fall Festival Auction, our kindergarteners got extra time to play, laugh, and make memories with their friends! 💙😄 Mrs. Phillips stepped in to supervise so Mrs. White and Ms. Nicole could enjoy a little well-deserved break, too! 🙌💙 A big thank-you to River and everyone who supports our Fall Festival Auction. Your generosity creates special experiences and happy memories for our Cubs! 🐻✨ Now that’s a pretty great way to Love. Learn. Lead.! 💙🐾

👻🎭 A Little Goosebumps, A Lot of Great Behavior! 🎭👻 Our third-grade Cubs had a spooktacular time on their field trip to see ** Goosebumps The Musical! ** 📚🎶 What a fun way to bring a story to life and enjoy a little theatrical magic! ✨ Even better, our Cubs received a compliment from an employee for their outstanding behavior! 👏💙 We are so proud of the way they represented SCES by showing respect, responsibility, and kindness throughout their trip. 🐾🌟 Way to go, third grade! You showed what it means to be Engaged Citizens and make our school family proud! 🐻 Love. Learn. Lead. 💙👻

Spencer County Schools Transportation Update – Wednesday, October 28th These changes are for this morning only at this time. Due to several driver illnesses and call-ins, we are having to make temporary adjustments to bus routes this morning. Please review the following changes carefully. HIGH SCHOOL / MIDDLE SCHOOL ROUTES Route 11: Students will need to meet Route 10 at either Old Ashes Creek/Ashes Creek or the firehouse off Highway 1066 at approximately 6:30 AM. If you are unable to get your child to one of these meeting locations, please reach out to me directly. Highview Estates HS/MS: Students will be picked up by Route 8 this morning. Route 3: This route will not operate on its normal schedule this morning. Students will be transported through temporary route adjustments. ELEMENTARY ROUTES Route 11: Elementary students will be picked up by Route 23 this morning. Please watch for the bus approximately 10 minutes earlier than normal. Little Stars Daycare: Students will be picked up by Route 14. Training Wheels Daycare: SCES and preschool students will be picked up by Route 14. TES students will be picked up by Route 27. Safe Harbor: Students will be picked up by Route 26. TES Shuttles: Route 26 will cover TES shuttle students from SCES, SCMS, and SCHS. IMPORTANT REMINDERS Please have students outside, ready, and visible for the bus. We anticipate some delays, particularly on elementary routes, as drivers work to cover additional students and stops. We are doing everything possible to minimize disruptions while ensuring all students are transported safely. These adjustments are temporary for this morning, and we will communicate any additional changes if needed. Thank you for your patience, flexibility, and understanding as our transportation team works through these challenges. We appreciate your continued support!

🌟 STEAM Teacher for the Day! 🌟 Ethan O’Bryan purchased the opportunity to be STEAM Teacher for the Day at our annual Fall Festival, and he put his leadership skills to work! Ethan helped with classroom investigations, assisted in assembling our new 3D printer, and got to test out our new ChompSaw. He even helped our first graders use it, too! Welcome to the Lexia Lounge! 🥤🐾 Talk about a reason to celebrate! 💙 A record number of students in Mrs. Tobbe’s and Mrs. Lawton’s classes leveled up in Lexia this week! 🚀📈 These hardworking Cubs earned a special treat at the Lexia Lounge, where they got to sip on a delicious drink while celebrating their reading success! 🥤😋 Our Empowered Learners are setting goals, building skills, and showing that hard work pays off! 🎶🐾 Music Teacher for the Day! 🐾🎶 Our Fall Festival Auction winners are taking center stage! 🌟 Earlier this week, Kacey got to step into the role of Music Teacher for the Day! 🎤🎹🥁 We hope Kacey had a note-worthy experience sharing the joy of music with our Cubs! 🎵💙 What a fun opportunity to explore a new role and make special memories at SCES! 🐾💡 Weekly STEAM Recap from the SCES Innovation Lab! From coding robots to creating animal models, our Cubs put their creativity and problem-solving skills to work this week! 🎃 Kindergarten explored Halloween engineering challenges! Students built spider web structures, pumpkin bridges, pumpkin patch fences, skeletons, and shape scarecrows as they practiced imagining, building, testing, and improving. 🦇 First grade connected reading, science, and building through Stellaluna! Students learned how parent birds help their babies survive and created models of safe nesting places. 🤖 Second grade was on a roll with Indi robots! Students used color cards to give their robots directions, build paths, and test their code while practicing sequencing and teamwork. 👻 Third grade brought Leonard Builds a Haunted House to life! After exploring 3D shapes and structural models, students sketched designs and built colorful note-card homes for Leonard and his family. 🦅 Fourth grade created a 3D Animal Survival Structures Museum! Students made animal models, marked important structures with colored pins, and created keys explaining how each structure helps the animal survive. Some of their work is on display in our front hallway! We’re proud of our Cubs for sharing ideas, trying new approaches, and learning through every challenge! 💙🐾 Love. Learn.
